Compact PCI ( cPCI )

RECAB erbjuder en stor variation av CompactPci ( cPCI ) plattformar och system.

Compact PCI Ett PCI-baserat byggsätt för industridatorer. Elektriskt sett är det ett PCI-bakplan med 3U (100×160 mm) eller 6U (160×233 mm) stora kort. Ett typiskt system kan innehålla upp till 8 stycken kort i samma bakplan.
CompactPCI ursprungligen ratificerades som PICMG 2,0 i slutet av 1995 som en passiv bakplan för PCI signalering. Den 2.x serien specifikationer från PICMG ger stöd för en mängd olika tekniker inklusive Hot Swap (PICMG 2,1), Telefoni signalering (PICMG 2,5) och framför allt utbyggnaden av arkitekturen till att omfatta switchade Ethernet (PICMG 2,16).
Ursprungligen utformad för att stödja PCI signaleringsprotokollet (och därav namnet "CompactPCI"), har CompactPCI vuxit till att omfatta en mängd olika tekniker centrerade kring tillämpningen av 2 mm HM kontakten på 3U och 6U formfaktor. Faktum är att många system genomförs utan PCI-bussen på bakplanet, såsom de genomförs med switchad Ethernet-kort samtrafik (PICMG 2,16).
Relaterade standarder inkluderar CompactPCI Express och CompactPXI, som följer ett liknande koncept, men ersätter protokoll och signalering av PCI Express och PXI resp.
